Rapid COVID-19 Testing

Appointments are necessary for all COVID-19 Rapid Tests. Please call the pharmacy to set up your appointment at 540-463-9166.

Once your appointment is made, arrive at your scheduled time and park in the Rapid COVID-19 / Flu Shot Parking Space at the front of the building.

After you have parked please call the pharmacy and let us know you are here. Please DO NOT enter the pharmacy if you are there for a COVID-19 test.

Is there an out-of-pocket cost?

Yes, the cost is $129, which the cost of your test and for your Lexington Prescription Center visit. We do not bill any insurances but we will provide you with a super bill that you can then submit to your insurance company.

What do I need to bring with me?

Please bring your completed registration form and either credit card or check for payment. Be sure to have your mobile phone in case we need to reach you.

Can I schedule in advance?

Yes. Appointments can be made for the same day and up to two days in advance (depending on availability).

Do I need a referral from a medical professional?

Referrals are not required.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes, all tests must be scheduled. Every individual who wants a test must make an appointment at the pharmacy at 540-463-9166.

Can I walk in?

No, appointments are required for all rapid COVID-19 tests. And please remember, when you arrive for testing, you must wear a face covering for the safety of all patients and providers; please only remove it when instructed to do so by a provider.

How old can a patient be to get a COVID-19 test?

Patients must be age 12 or older to register for COVID-19 testing. A parent or legal guardian must complete the registration form for all minor patients Patients 12-15 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who may need to assist with sample collection using the swab.

Can I bring someone with me or should I come alone?

We understand that you may need to bring someone with you; however, only patients who have scheduled a visit can be tested.

How and when will I get results?

Results for rapid testing are returned on the same day within 30 minutes of the specimen collection.

How is my sample for testing collected?

While you remain in the vehicle, our staff will collect the sample from the recreations from your nasel cavity.

What type of test is performed?

Lexington Prescription Center performs a BD Veritor TM System for Rapid Detection of SARS-CoV-2 , which tests for active infections within the first 5 days of symptoms only.
